Obituary

Lawrence Michael Alexander, Jr., age 24, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 24, 2010, surrounded by his beloved family.

Born in Newark, DE, on August 5, 1985, Larry was a graduate of Elkton High School. He was a boilermaker by profession and worked for APEX Piping Systems, Inc. in Newport, DE.

An avid and knowledgeable outdoorsman throughout his life, Larry greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing, as well as collecting antlers with his brother while exploring the Fair Hill Natural Resources area. He was a gifted athlete from childhood and enjoyed both playing and watching baseball. Most of all, he was devoted to his family, particularly his beloved niece and nephew, and considered his father and brother to be his very best friends. Larry will be long remembered as a genuinely good and kind-hearted person, whose ability to do anything that he put his mind to was an inspiration to family and friends alike.

Larry is survived by his parents, Janice J. Russell Alexander and Lawrence Michael Alexander, Sr.; siblings, Lyndie J. Feldscher, Jennifer S. Taylor (Jason), and Zachary R. Alexander; brother-in-law, Tony Feldscher; niece, Avery J. Feldscher; nephew, Anthony Feldscher; paternal grandparents, Rose and Robert Alexander, Sr.; paternal aunts, Grace Alexander, Barbara Soyars (Dave), Bette Webster, Libby Martin, and Mary Trapp (Jerry); paternal uncles, Robert Alexander, Jr. (Vicki) and David Alexander (Tammy); maternal uncles, Cliff Russell (Yvonne), Clifton Russell IV (Marty); Eric Russell (Patricia), and Scott Russell (Cindy); and a host of cousins and extended family members.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to their dearest friends, Colleen and Glenn Pederson, for all their love and support during this difficult time.

A funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 West Park Place, Newark, DE, where visitation will begin at 4 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Larry may be made to The Uncle Larry Memorial Education Fund, c/o HAR-CO Maryland Federal Credit Union, 30 Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014.

Larry Alexander, Jr. went gently to join his great-grandmother, grandmother & aunt who passed before him and to be received by his FATHER at approximately 8:00 am this morning.  Those of us in his extended family were notified around 9:00 am.  He was surrounded by his mother, father, brother and sisters, along with several loving aunts, uncles and friends.

Larry's immediate family is very close.  They gather nearly every Sunday afternoon throughout the year for dinner.
His immediate family will have tremendous difficulty with this loss.  His extended family will find a void where this mischievous young man once walked.
He is deeply loved and will be deeply missed.....
Please keep the Friends & Family of Lawrence Alexander, Jr. in your prayers...
